“One of our junior pastors was attacked first” – Rev Owusu Bempah’s church tells their side of the story

Glorious Word Power Ministries International, the church of embattled preacher Rev Owusu Bemoah has issued a statement to clarify the attack on one of its junior pastors.

According to an earlier report, some members of Owusu Bempah’s church and junior pastors attacked police officers who stormed his church to arrest him for threatening to kill Nana Agraada.

Though the church through its statement dated 14 September has admitted to the fact that there was an altercation between police officers and members of the church on 12th September, it has sought to clarify the story.

“…The church confirms that there was an altercation outside of the church premises on Sunday 12th September 2021 that got one of our junior pastors manhandled and arrested by some unidentified men. The manner of arrest generated into a scuffle that attracted people in the neighbourhood and the church to the scene.”

The statement also says: “The gunshots by the then unidentified men and the call for help from the neighbourhood caught the attention of Apostle Dr Isaac Owusu-Bempah who halted his ministration at the church and moved out to the scene to get details of what was happening.”

The statement then went on to narrate Owosu- Bempahs’s reaction: “Upon being informed that one of his junior pastors has been arrested, he followed up to the Dansoman Police Station and was later informed that he (Junior Pastor) had been taken to the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, where Apostle Dr Isaac Owusu-Bempah proceeded to.”

Rev Owusu Bempah has since been remanded into police custody even before he complained of ill-health, He is expected to appear in court in a week’s time.

Meanwhile, an earlier video that came out in the wake of Owusu Bempah’s arrest show one of his junior pastors threatening to kill and go scot-free. According to him, the law is lenient on murder thus he is poised to “finish” anyone who crosses his path inclusinf their archrival Nana Agraada.

“In Ghana, you can kill someone and walk freely. It was my property I brandished and no one can do anything about it,” the pastor said boldly.
