Contemporary gospel artistes for reasons best known to them want to change the status quo. The status quo that prevents gospel musicians to collaborate with secular artistes on a song.

On records, Bro. Sammy, Joyce Blessing and Nacee happen to be the well-known gospel musicians who have changed the gospel status quo. Thus, they have all featured secular acts on their songs.

Back to the subject matter, Nacee as mentioned above is one of the acts who have changed the status quo. Not long ago, Nacee collaborated with Guru on a song christened “Boys Boys”. The song was, however, condemned by section of religious folks, however, Nacee explained himself that he had an inspiration from the Ultimate Reality.

Now, Nacee in an interview with NY DJ in the studios of Kumasi-based Yfm was asked his choice of rapper Guru on the song. In response, he posited that:

“Guru is a friend and he was also available. Almost all the hip life musicians are friends. I first called Yaa Pono but he was busy at that time. The choice was three; Yaa Pono, Sarkodie and Guru. Yaa Pono was on tour and Sarkodie was also out of the country.”
