A Kumasi-based sports writer with a strong viewpoint, Super Obondede of Light FM, has criticized Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, calling him unqualified.
The assistant coach at Borussia Dortmund has taken a lot of heat for Ghana’s dismal performance in their second friendly game against Nicaragua in September.
Ghana’s football team defeated 3-0 against Brazil in a warmup match for the 2022 World Cup. In spite of this loss, fans were confident that their team would still be able to compete well against the 139th-ranked nation.
But the Black Stars prevailed in their Tuesday encounter against their Central American opponents, winning by a 1-0.
Many have criticized Addo’s tactics and called for him to quit in the wake of the team’s disappointing performance in their first two games of the World Cup.
Super Obondede says Addo can’t handle managing the national team because he’s not intelligent enough in the area of coaching
“Otto Addo is a scout. He has no coaching thinking skills reason why he doesn’t even know his first 11. He’s not capable of managing Black Stars.
“Otto Addo should be replaced with Chris Hughton who is currently the technical advisor to the Black Stars team else danger will happen at Qatar,” Super Obondede added.
To thank him for leading Ghana to the world cup, which will begin on November 20 and go through December 18, Otto Addo has signed a one-year contract with the Ghana Football Association [GFA].
