Patience Osarfo, Woman Who Was Assaulted By Policeman Gets House & Money From Midland Savings & Loans As Compensation

Patience Osarfo, the 36-year-old woman who was physically assaulted by a policeman at the Midland Savings and Loans has been compensated with a house and some amount of money by the bank.

A portion of the report on Myjoyonline.com says; “The intervention by Midland, which has been described by lawyers of the 36-year-old lady as “generous”, is to avoid a civil suit against the financial institution for the punches, trauma and embarrassment she suffered following the assault she went through at the hands of Lance Corporal Frederick Amanor Skalla.

Patience Osarfo’s life has turned around for good. From living in a kiosk with her two children and a grandchild to the owner of a new house. When the incident happened, several Ghanaians donated cash to her. One MP gave her Ghc2,000. The National Women organiser of the NPP also gave her Ghc5,000 plus some food items. CEO of Despite Group of Companies, Kwame Despite also gave some Ghc5000, and several other Ghanaians donated amounts ranging from 100ghc-3000 to her via Mobile Money.
