The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned nationwide exercise aimed at mobilizing enough revenue for its operation starting Monday, April 12 2021.
This is a move by the ECG to clamp down on individuals and companies that have failed to pay their bills or illegally connected to the nationwide grid.
In a statement, ECG says the checks will focus on all categories of customers in arrears i. e prepaid and postpaid customers.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited wishes to inform its cherished customers and the general public that it will be resuming its normal Revenue Mobilization exercise, effective 12th April 2021”, part of the statement reads.
The ECG said its officials could be identified by their IDs and cars while strict adherence to COVID protocols will be observed.
