The barbaric act of a Ghanaian man whose nephew stole ¢20 has landed him trouble with the police. The man, Felix Aposonge Ayelazoya, put the victim’s fingers on a wooden panel and used a machete to cut the two fingers off.
For going to such an extreme end to punish his own nephew who is just 11-years for stealing, the suspect has subsequently been remanded in prison custody by the Bongo Magistrate Court to reappear on July 10, 2020.
Presenting the fact of the case to the media, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Upper East Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mr David Fianko-Okyere said the suspect accused his nephew of stealing the money which the denied.
The boy’s denial angered Mr Aleyazoya who looked for a machete to chop off his finger to teach him a lesson.
According to the regional police PRO, the police were preparing to send the docket to the Attorney-General’s Department.
