The Police Intended To Arrest Obinim In Church For The Fraud Case?| He Also Spent The Night In Nima Cells
Reports are that Prophet Obinim has been arrested by the police for two charges but Ghbase.com has gathered a different twist of what is actually going on.
A source has hinted Ghbase.com that, the man who accused Bishop Obinim for defrauding him of some Ghc11 million reported the matter to the Nima Police Station and the police had plans of arresting him during his church service yesterday
However the source tells us that, Obinim got hint of the plans of the police to arrest him in church and quickly reported himself to the Tema Police Station as he had already been invited by the police for investigations into the matter of him flogging two teens in his church for fornication.
Obinim was then asked to be transferred to the CID Headquarters in Accra after the police had questioned him in Tema for the flogging issue so the matter of the fraud issue leveled against him to be investigated.
So the video you saw him been handcuffed and taken into a car was because of the fraud case and not the flogging issue.
The source also hinted us that, Obinim was made to spend the night together with his assistant at the Nima Police Station and we all know how bad the cells of the Nima Police Station is. Nima Police Station has some of the toughest criminals and rascals there and the scent from the place can kill one.
Now according to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) PRO, ASP Joseph Darkwa, a complainant came to the Tema Police some few weeks ago to report that he gave an amount of GH¢780,000 to Okomfo Gyapata of Mampong Nkwanta near Koforidua in the Eastern Region to do a spiritual ritual to bless the money obtained from gold proceeds.
“According to the complainant, after some time, he realised that the Okomfo was not able to help him neither was he able to give him back his money, so he came to Bishop Obinim to report the matter so the Bishop would help him retrieve the money and do the rituals to bless the money for him,” he said.
ASP Darkwa said it was based on that that Bishop Obinim asked him to bring the rest of the gold money which amounted to GH¢11.6 million belonging to the family.
The complainant told the police since he gave the money to the Bishop, he has not been able to do what he was expected to do neither was he given back his money.
So there you have it. We would update you when we are able to gather more information.
