The coronavirus disease is taking its death tolls on Ghanaian after its first was recorded about a month ago and the latest to fall victim is veteran Ghanaian Journalists, Mike Adjei.
According to his grandson, Alec Quaye who shared the news on Twitter, his grandpapa passed away due to coronavirus.
Alec Quaye’s tweet reads; “i recently lost my grandpa to Covid19. MIKE ADJEI. the 1st man to tell me i’m great. 1st man to put a book in my hand & inspire me to write. one of the brave few in his generation to stand up to tyranny. you taught me courage.
rest well warrior! we’ll link soon in the spirit❤??”.
Mike Adjei was a popular journalist during the Rawlings’ Military regime. He had a very strong reservation against the way Mr Rawlings was ruling the country, but he had to flee the country when he realized that his life was under threat for being anti-Rawlings.
He is also the author of the book “Death and Pain, Rawlings’ Ghana”.
