President Akufo-Addo sends message of condolence to Nigeria following death of Chief of Army Staff

President Akufo-Addo has sent a message of condolence to President Buhari and the people of Nigeria following the tragic death of their Chief of Army Staff two days ago.

Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru died in a plane crash which claimed the lives of 11 other passengers who are said to be his aides. He was an official trip to Kaduna.

President Akufo-Addo in his message, said the people of Ghana and the government are saddened by the death of the Chief of Army Staff and promises Nigeria of Ghana’s support in these trying times.

I express the deep condolences of the Gov’t and people of Ghana, and of myself personally, to President Buhari and the Gov’t and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the shocking, tragic deaths of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and other senior Nigerian military officers, in Saturday’s plane crash. Our hearts go out to their families, and may their souls rest in perfect peace.
