Did Wizkid pull an April Fool on Ghanaians? Three years ago during his performance at the Vodafone Ghana Music awards, the Nigerian superstar (please Shatta Wale fans accept this and let’s move on) paused briefly and announced to the ecstatic audience that he had signed Efya, R2bees and Eazi to his Starboy Records.

Years down the line Ghanaians keep saying they have not seen anything productive from the aforementioned artistes since they were signed but in a recent interview, Wizkid has revealed he never signed the sensational Tema-based duo nor any of the artistes mentioned earlier.
Speaking on a Nigerian radio station, Wizkid suggested that R2bees are too big for the record label and that it was a couple of collaborations they had that brought them together.
He said:
It’s a family thing. R2bees was never signed to Starboy. R2bees cannot be signed on Starboy. These are people who started music before I did. Its a collaboration we did to put out music.
The multiple award winning musician said the affiliation was never contractual and was only borne out of friendship and his love for R2bees and Ghana.
Wizkid also spoke fondly of Ghana and even hinted that he would love to relocate to Ghana when he was much older.
