Randy Meisner was a founding member of the country rock group Poco. Meisner was a significant member of the band as the bassist and one of the lead vocalists when it was created in 1968.

Randall, the only child and second child of farmers Herman (1911-1995) and Emilie Meisner (1911-2010), Herman Meisner was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. His four grandparents were all immigrants from the Volga German region.

Carol, Randy’s elder sister, passed away in 2005. He remembered his mother singing around the home all the time. George Haun, his maternal grandfather, taught violin. On their farm, the Meisner family raised sugar beets, corn, beans, and alfalfa.

He sang lead vocals on several songs, including “Take It to the Limit,” which became one of the band’s biggest hits. His melodic voice and solid bass lines were a crucial part of The Eagles’ early sound.

During his time with The Eagles, the band achieved immense success with albums like “On the Border,” “One of These Nights,” and “Hotel California.” These albums featured some of the band’s most popular songs and solidified their place in rock history.

Randy Meisner, on the other hand, quit The Eagles in 1977, following the publication of their hugely popular album “Hotel California.” He stated that he left for personal reasons and a desire to spend more time with his family.

Randy Meisner pursued a solo career after leaving The Eagles, although he was not as successful as he had been with the band. Throughout the years, he struggled with personal troubles, which limited his musical output. He often avoided public scrutiny in order to focus on his personal life.

Randy Meisner died on July 26, 2023. He died as a consequence of complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
