First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei-Owusu has justified why the Achimota School may have refused to admit the dreadlocked student.

According to him, Rastafarianism involves weed-smoking which no individual can run away from. This presupposes that admitting Tyrone Meyers to Achimota School will be a fatal decision.

Speaking on the floor of parliament on issues surrounding the merit and demerit of Achimota School refusing to admit the dreadlocked student, Joseph Osei-Owusu said Rastafarianism and weed smoking are siblings thus anybody who is imbued with its beliefs clearly smokes.
