Rawlings Begged For $4000 To Pay For Daughters Graduation Fees :Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo

Even as the former President, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings makes his final journey to meet his maker, interesting revelations are coming out in relation to the conditions he lived in when his sworn enemy, President John Kuffour ascended the Presidency.

A close confidante of the late President Hon. Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo aka Lion has disclosed in a Facebook post that life under President Kuffour was so difficult for the late President that he couldn’t afford to pay for the graduation ceremony of his daughter who was schooling in the United States.

He noted that the late President was left to tears because his accounts and benefits as a former president had been cancelled by ex-president John Agyekum Kuffour.

He posted: “President Jerry John Rawlings didn’t have $4,000.00 in his account as at 2003 because all his benefits were cancelled by the President John Agyekum Kufour, and he cried bitterly when his daughter called to pay for her graduation fees”.

Readers will recall how the courtesies and privileges of the former President were withdrawn in 2003 by the NPP government led by John Agyekum Kuffour.

The government accused the late President of bad-mouthing the government necessitating that particular action.
