Ghanaians woke up to the sad news about the death of former President Jerry John Rawlings.
According to earlier reports by Graphic Online, he died on Thursday morning at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) in Accra after a short illness.
Mr Rawlings had been on admission at Korle Bu for about a week for an undisclosed ailment. He reportedly took ill after the burial of his mother last month October.
Well, in a latest development, News anchor and laboratory scientist, Emmanuel Samani has confirmed on Twitter that the former President’s death was as a result of covid-19.
Born on June 22, 1947, Mr Rawlings was a former Ghanaian military leader and subsequent politician who ruled The country from 1981 to 2001 and also for a brief period in 1979.
