As E-Levy prepares to take off Sunday, May 1, 2022, the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has urged all the charging entities to make sure they reverse wrongful deductions.

Following the approval of the E-Levy bill at the expense of the outcry of Ghanaians, the implementation of the E-levy will take off Sunday, May 1.

Monies above GHc100 being sent between different mobile money or bank accounts will be charged an extra 1.5% fee.

As the implementation nears its beginning, the GRA has put in place some administrative guidelines to ensure the successful implementation of the E-levy.

And one of them is for the charging entities to reverse all wrongful deductions as they are hopeful they will be issues in the beginning phase of the implementation.

“Following the Ghana Revenue Authority’s assessment of the general readiness of some Charging Entities to integrate with the E-levy Management System, the Commissioner-General has decided on a modified phased approach for the implementation of the e-levy from 1st May,” the GRA said in a statement.
