Sunawan has been working in the top two media houses for some time now. In 2018, Riz was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. This particular disease affects the nerve cells responsible for controlling muscle movement and can result in complete paralysis.
Despite his sickness, Riz Sunawan continued his duties. There are times however when his condition goes extreme and he was eventually confined to a bed. On 16th December 2022, he co-authored a book titled “My Name is Riz. I have Motor Neurone Disease”. The book was written to help create awareness about MND and proceedings to help create Asri’s medical expenses.
Riz Sunawan’s Cause of Death
Sunawan’s cause of death is likely associated with his battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). This type is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.
Riz died at about 10 am at his house located on Chai Chee Avenue when his maid realized that the deceased’s pulse was no longer beating. He died at the age of 45 years.
