Ghanaian Reggae/dancehall artiste, Rocky Dawuni has finally replied Wendy Shay over comments she made concerning her recent Grammy nomination.
In a tweet, Wendy Shay wrote ‘Chairman @RockyDawuni Show us the Grammy way cos connection dey pass application’ after Rocky was announced a nominee for the 64th Grammy Awards.
According to Wendy Shay’s tweet, there seem to be more to the nomination than they just doing music and applying.
Well, Rocky Dawuni has spoken about Wendy Shay’s tweet and has schooled her about the most appropriate way to get a nomination which does not include ‘connection’ as she thinks.
Speaking to Okyeame Quophi in an interview on Angel FM, Rocky mentioned that the only way one can get a Grammy nomination is by composing great songs and making sure that the composition has a quality sound.
He added that the processes a song that is submitted for a Grammy nomination goes through before it is nominated do not make it possible for anyone to influence the process.
