SAD news as Free SHS students sit on bare floor to learn at Asuogyaman in Eastern Region

Due to a lack of desks, senior high school students in Asuogyaman District, Eastern Region, may have to wait longer for Free SHS.

During class hours, students use dining hall tables and benches, while others stand and sit on the floor.

Officials claim this is hindering their quest for quality education.

The school’s teachers are struggling to grade students’ work. Overcrowded classrooms are another major issue at school.

Headmasters of affected schools contacted MP Thomas Ampem Nyarko for help.

Many schools in the district have received only a few desks from the Ghana Education Service, while others are still waiting.

He called the situation pathetic. The MP has so far delivered mono desks to Adjena and Boso Senior Secondary Technical Schools.

He said “I began the distribution of mono desks to some selected schools in my constituency to enhance teaching and learning. I managed to reach Adjena and Boso secondary technical schools. The furniture deficit is pathetic. Let’s all do our bit to help ease the pressure.”
