SAD: Thomas Partey dropped from Arsenal’s US tour

Thomas Partey, a Ghanaian midfielder, has been ruled out of Arsenal’s pre-season trip to the United States, according to the UK dailymail.

Bernd Leno and Folarin Balogun are likely to continue practicing with the 29-year-old in London.

A thigh injury Partey sustained in April kept him out of Friday’s 5-3 triumph against Nurnberg, where he had previously played 45 minutes in the 5-1 victory over Ipswich Town.

Arsenal will face Everton on Sunday in Baltimore, Maryland, followed by games against Orlando City on April 4 and Chelsea on April 7 in Orlando, Florida.

Since joining Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020, Partey has become one of the club’s most crucial players.

The Gunners’ failure to qualify for the Champions League was exacerbated by his catastrophic injury at the conclusion of the season.

In his two seasons in the Premier League, he has appeared in 48 games and scored two goals.
