There is brewing tension between Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its Parliamentary Caucus of the Party with the former labeling their parliamentary leaders as “sellouts” who have no spine.
President Akufo-Addo reduces ministries from 36 to 29, ministers from 126 to 85The brewing feud has been occasioned due to information of an alleged inducement offered to members of the NDC on the Appointment Committee not to subject individuals nominated by the President for Ministerial Appointments to a rigorous vetting process.
But in an all blazing fashion, the MP for Ningo Prampram Sam Goerge claims it is irritating, disparaging, and demeaning commentary being propagated by NDC members.
“Whatever inducement you think is being offered did not exist when we put Party first to elect speaker?”He asked.
“All 137 of us in Parliament stood up to the excessive abuse of state Power by the Akuffo Addo regime and in the face of intimidation and threats, won our Parliamentary seats for the Party. On the night of the 6th and 7th January, we again with a unity of purpose put our lives at risk and successfully elected an NDC speaker of Parliament.”He added.
He noted that it is annoying to the extent that those making all the threats and casting insinuations have failed to provide a half-page memorandum on why any of the people they are talking about should be disqualified.
“Disqualification is not based on emotional outburst or your whims and caprices. It is based on hard facts backed by evidence. And don’t tell me your evidence is there .you too you are a person, package it and send it to us as a Memorandum.” He added.
“I believe in the sense of camaraderie in the NDC Caucus. I believe in the integrity of our Members on the Appointments Committee. I trust our Leadership. We would act in the ultimate interest of the Party.”He added
