Samini & Kwaw Kese Should Be Arrested – Lawyer Atta Kyea

Born Emmanuel Botchwey popularly known as Kwaw Kese has revealed that he still actively smokes cannabis and even the police are fully aware of it. According to him, some Ghanaian Parliamentarians, doctors and musicians smoke weed. As such, he still don’t get the rationale behind his arrest in Kumasi on Saturday, November 22, 2014, for allegedly smoking cannabis in public.

Similarly, Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Samini has publicly admitted that he wants marijuana popularly known as weed to be legalized since it is a right tool to boost the Ghanaian economy. The Dancehall and Reggae got very candid and admitted to smoking the narcotic but does so away from prying eyes. Samini is now pushing for the decriminalization of marijuana.

As a result of the influx propagation of the ‘weed’ by some Ghanaian celebrities has triggered Lawyer Atta Kyea challenging the law courts to take its course. Speaking in an interview on Entertainment Cirkle on Kessben FM with DJ Roar, the astute lawyer stated emphatically that Kwaw Kese and Samini should be arrested and prosecuted accordingly for publicly admitting to smoking.

“This is a self confession that the two musicians are users of narcotics. As such, they can be arrested and prosecuted based on their own confession if only we’re to put our laws to work”, he said.

The lawyer expressed worry as to the kind of societal model they’re leaving behind for the youth to emulate especially their fans.

“What moral values do they want the youth to emulate? Meanwhile, because most of the youth are naïve, they unfortunately copy blindly from their ‘morally corrupt’ role models. Thus, Kwaw Kese is my role model and he smokes. Therefore, I’ve to smoke to be like him. How can that be?” Lawyer Atta Kyea quizzed

Lawyer Atta Kyea disclosed in the interview that the laws of Ghana prohibits the use of narcotics and “weed” is no exception. Therefore, as it stands now, legal action can be taken against the two musicians who couldn’t hide their illegal activities from the public domain.
