Nigerian afropop singer,Yemi Alade popularly known for her monster hit track Johnny has confessed some hours ago that it took her divine intervention for Sarkodie to finally collaborate with her on her latest song,Ego even though she is Sarkodie’s hugest fan.
At the beginning of her post, she hashtagged ‘fanOfAColleague’ and after what she had to say about Obidi, she again hashtagged ‘hugeFanCharle’. Deducing meaning from these hashtags,it is clear that Yemi Alade who is one of the biggest female singers in Nigeria,is Sarkodie’s hugest fan. That alone means soo much because it is very rare for someone in your professional field to confess that he/she is your fan, probably unless you are extremely good at what you do.
Knowing how big an act Sarkodie is,he gets very busy and quite difficult to come by for collaborations.Even his Ghanaian counterparts hardly get him to feature on their songs since he has other businesses to take care of both home and abroad.
According to the sumptuous Yemi Alade, her Nigerian and London team chased Sarkodie for several months but it all proved futile. Then one day,she received a text from King Sark saying,he will rap on her song but in his language. (She had no option than to jump in the air for 20 minutes before accepting Sark’s decision. That’s my imagination though lol,
The 2015 MTV MAMAs Best Female Act said she almost asked her fans to beg Sarkodie to have her time since their paths hardly crossed. At least other African countries are actually acknowledging our acts here in Ghana and we are eminently proud of them.
Someone should please inform Yemi Alade that next time she wants a collabo from a Ghanaian act,she should kindly contact one talented musician called Sammy Tuga(the writer) for some dope punchlines.I’m sure that particular track will sell worldwide and top music charts.
Anyway, see a screenshot of her post below:
