Strongman was tipped as the future of Ghana rap after emerging as the winner of “Next Big Thing In GH Hip-Hop” in 2012. Those with this perception were convinced beyond doubt that with a little push especially in the area of finance, the budding rapper will take over from his predecessors with time.
The people’s prayer (financial breakthrough) in a way came into visible reality when on March 24, 2017, Strongman was signed by Sarkodie’s SarkCess Music. However, after plying his trade at SarkCess Music for close to two (2) years, Strongman failed to make a significant progress to the satisfaction of his fans, cetéris paribus!
Since Strongman’s departure from Sarkodie’s camp, there have been a lot of ongoing hullabaloo coming from the camp of each other whenever ones gets the opportunity to grant an interview. Remember both Sarkodie and Strongman have to clear the air in reference to some perception held by the fans in the course of their working relationship.
Strongman writing rap lines for Sarkodie remains one of the perceptions held by the fans for obvious reasons. Remember that Strongman is nothing but a gem in terms of lyrical composition for his ability to fuss raps with proverbs to make meaning and rhyme at the same time is one in a million.
But the chap under scrutiny in a recent interview with Leticia Asante debunked the rumours that he used to help Sarkodie in lyrical composition when he was at SarkCess Music. Strongman voiced that Sarkodie still raps and he’s not yet a wack rapper perhaps for him (Strongman) to write lines for Sarkodie.
It’s worth knowing that Strongman in the same interview went on to say that if Sarkodie starts fading in terms of rap, he won’t hesitate to notify him. But as it stands, his former label boss raps better. Therefore, lovers of rap especially his fans should regard that perception as null and void.
Enough, watch the snippet of the interview below:
