Sarkodie, Not Kuami Eugene, Should Have Won ‘Artiste Of The Year’ – Guru

Rapper Guru believes the ‘Artiste Of The Year’ award won by highlife sensation Kuami Eugene at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) over the weekend should have gone to Sarkodie.

According to the ‘Lapaz Toyota’ hitmaker, Sarkodie has worked tremendously over the year and was in a better position to hold claim to the much-coveted award.

In a tweet, Guru disagreed with the fact that the award was given to Kuami Eugene, who many, just like Guru, was not the right and deserving recipient of the plaque. However, he congratulated the ‘Open Gate’ hitmaker for going against the odds and winning it.

He wrote: “The only year under review me GURU kind of support Sarkodie to win artist of the year Masa give back His award wai anyway congrats My Fadama Boy ade3 wo fie aa oy3″

There have been some pockets of controversies and doubts surrounding some awards and the individuals who were declared recipients. With the ‘Artiste Of The Year’ category, a larger number of the public believes it should have been won by Sarkodie or Kofi Kinaata.
