Sarkodie, Shatta & Stonebwoy don’t qualify to be called celebrities; they’ve done nothing significant for Ghana – Xandy Kamel

The word ‘celebrity’ is one of the most misused words in Ghana and that is something Ghanaian wannabe actress, Xandy Kamel is not happy about.

Interacting with GhPage TV recently, Xandy Kamel indicated that Ghanaian showbiz players have done nothing significant in the society to be celebrated. According to Xandy, A-list stars in the country like Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy are public figures and not celebrities.

The Kumawood actress noted that prominent people in the country like President Nana Addo Darkwa Akufo-Addo, Otumfuo Osei Tutu Ababio II, late former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan can be regarded as celebrities.

In her view, the aforementioned personalities are worth celebrating because of the authority and power they possess. Xandy Kamel went on to state that those individuals always project and promote Ghana to the outside world.
