After the maiden edition of TV3 Talented Kidz reality show, one of the contestants who became the talk of Ghana happens to be Awal. This is because he had favour in the eyes of Sarkodie taking into consideration the fact that the young chap mimicked the works of Sarkodie.
If you could remember, Sarkodie made an appearance during the grand finale of the maiden edition of Talented Kidz and promised Awal that he’ll do a song with him and if possibly sign him and nurture him to achieve greatness in Ghana Music Industry and beyond.
Lo and behold, Sarkodie recorded a song with Awal and also footed some of his school bills. But the relationship between Sarkodie and Awal turned sour along the line for obvious reasons. As a result, Sarkodie signed Strongman from nowhere to SarkCess Music leaving Awal to his own fate.
Afterwards, every news coming from the camp of Awal and Sarkodie has not been that encouraging. Simply put, the court of public opinion or otherwise social media users concluded that Sarkodie is at loggerheads with the young chap.
But according to Awal in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, he is in no way disappointed that his mentor Sarkodie has not signed him to the Sarkcess Music label yet. To him, Sarkodie may have his plans and he [Awal] does not think being signed to the brand is a big deal.
“I don’t think Sarkodie signing me is going to be a big thing. If he signs me it’s good, if not its also fine and others can also sign me,” he stated.
Awal said he is not worried and certainly not jealous about Sarkodie signing Strongman who joined Sarkcess Music in March 2017. He explained that;
“I felt happy for a brother [Strongman] and that also motivated me to work extra hard. Maybe Sarkodie has seen something in him that he has not seen in me, I only think I have to really work extra hard.”
More importantly, Awal debunked rumors that he and Sarkodie are not on good terms as majority of Ghanaians have been made to believe.
