Sarkodie should have promoted Mary album to win Grammy ¬– Ruthy

In an era where mixtapes and singles have flooded Ghana’s music industry, rapper Sarkodie keeps releasing albums to the satisfaction of his fans.

So far so good, Sarkodie has been able to produce seven (7) albums. Namely, Makye (2009), Rapperholic (2012), Sarkology (2014), Mary (2015), Highest (2017), Black Love (2019) and No Pressure (2021).

But from the look of things, Sarkodie’s 4th studio album christened Mary remains the very best as Mary is a live band-recorded album, not with so much of the computerized method we know of.

However, Sarkodie for reasons best known to him didn’t promote the album as expected compared to No Pressure which arguably is a sub-standard album, Nhyira FM’s Ruthy has envisaged.

According to Ruthy in a post on Facebook, Sarkodie would’ve won Grammy longest if he had promoted Mary album like how he’s busily promoting No Pressure.

To Ruthy’s best knowledge and experience in Ghana’s music industry, the cover and graphics of Sarkodie’s Mary album were nothing substandard.

She, therefore, advised the rapper to consider remixing some of the songs on the Mary album which has Grammy appeal and not the substandard ‘No Pressure’ album he’s busily promoting and taking countless photoshoots daily.

Check out the post below:

“How I wish Sarkodie could have injected the kinda energy he’s mounting on the #NoPressure Album on to the #Mary Album, he could have even won “Grammy” with it..

“Hmm, #Mary album had and still have the originality and versatility of Sarkodie but man failed to promote it as expected in Ghana even from graphics (album cover art) to photo shoots and stuff were all substandard!!!

“Mary album needed this kinda promotion. “No Pressure but “Yes” Pressure nkoaaa in Reality “!!! !! Sarkodie can we get remix of some tracks on Mary album??!!
