Ghanaian hip-hop star Sarkodie has released his eighth studio, a 10-track album called JAMZ that features some of Africa’s most prominent artistes.
The body of work is primarily infused with African-inspired hip-hop, a sound that Sarkodie has become renowned for.
Artistes including Black Sherif, Cina Soul, Oxlade, Lojay, Joeboy, BNXN, Kranium, and King Promise all make guest appearances on Sarkodie’s eighth studio album.
JAMZ is the follow-up to Sarkodie’s “No Pressure” album from last year, which also featured big-name collaborations that added versatility to his last project.
While it can be difficult for non-native Twi speakers to understand what Sarkodie is saying in some songs, the rapper has the ability to hold listeners spellbound through his chemistry with the beat.
But from the camp of Realest Blogger of GHBase.Com fame who has put each song on repeat for more than 4 times can say on authority that only “Country Side” song which employs the signature of Black Sherif depicts the real Sarkodie Ghanaians know in the game of rap!
The truth is, I have keenly followed every single project from the camp of Sarkodie from 2009 till date. So, I know the effort Sarkodie puts into his craft, therefore, if he brings out a mediocre or sub-standard-infested album, he must be told accordingly!
Apart from “Country Side” song which has its riddim, lyrical dexterity, energy, content and instrumentation on point, the rest of the songs need to be refixed as soon as possible.
To back my argument with data, a check on Sarkodie’s YouTube channel proves that “Country Side” song featuring Black Sherif is much preferred by music enthusiasts.
This is because “Country Side” song has had the highest views since its upload. It has 94k views as of the time of publication and the rest are all struggling to penetrate with some hitting 20k views.
Y’all know that after releasing “No Pressure,” Sarkodie only took a year to release “JAMZ.” Logically, one can deduce that the most recent album from the Tema-based rapper was hastily put together.
So, going forward, Sarkodie needs to take his time before he comes out with anything album or EP. He needs to take his time and put in the right work in order to give critical music enthusiasts a masterpiece like “Mary” album.
Enough, enjoy “Country Side” song below:
