Ghanaians or should i say people just love to make too much meaning out of words. Sarkodie was castigated for being a member of the group Illuminati just because he had turned rich and some jealous peeps who don’t want to thrive for success, criticized him and said he was an Illuminati, which really affected his emotions to the extent he even sang a song and named it “Illuminati” and thanks to his critics that song won him the best music video at the 4syte music video awards, out of your hatred, he prospereth the more. And now Joey B is being associated to Illuminati, yes, it’s making the headlines, and people are saying that one word from his lyrics “corna” is a word that  means “the devil’s horn”  or could it also be that because he featured the best rapper Sarkodie who peeps still think  is an illuminati? well wikipedia defines it as “The sign of the horns is a hand gesture with a variety of meanings and uses in various cultures. It is formed by extending the index and little fingers while holding the middle and ring fingers down with the thumb” So when i heard this rumour, i decided to find out if there was any truth to it and also asked a few people what they thought of the word “corna”. and to be frank, with you,it has various meanings,
corna is a superstition in ancient italy that it was used to ward off bad luck

2.In In Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Uruguay,it is an offensive gesture

3.In electronic communication, the sign of the horns is represented with the \m/ or |m| emoticon and sometimes \,,/ and /,,/.

4.In sports culture, Hook ’em Horns is the slogan and hand signal of the University of Texas at Austin. Students and alumni of the university employ a greeting consisting of the phrase “Hook ’em” or “Hook ’em Horns” and also use the phrase as a parting good-bye or as the closing line in a letter or story. The gesture is meant to approximate the shape of the head and horns of the UT mascot, the Texas Longhorn Bevo.

But listening to all Joey B’s lyrics, none really relates to this, infact to me “corna” means “corner” just like we say it in pidgin. I spoke to three guys when this corna thing became an issue and this was what they had to say

1. Kwaku (Alajo): Hmm, as for me that song dier, i love it very much, and am not taking any definitions people give, I think Joey B is a good musician and people just want to block his shine, we all know what tonga means, chale still “all becos of TONGA”

2. Kukua: Oh yeah, of course i have heard the track and i love it, althoug at first i did not understand the word tonga, but i now i do, i think it’s still all because of tonga, but the corna thing they want to relate it to illuminati and the devil’s horn, i strongly disagree.

3. Micheal: Look my brother, the end time is hear, sometimes we christians are sturbborn, and we don’t want to listen, it’s funny to see even 3 year olds yelling “tonga, tonga tonga,” Do they yell the bible qoutationslike this?? Let the wise listen to wisdom and draw his own conclusions,

Well, you have heard what they think, but looking at it all , i believe the  song maybe a little profane but it’s no close to it being illuminati, share your sentiments in the comments box below
