#SchoolPlacement: My nephew got aggregate 10 but didn’t get 1st or 2rd choice, rather 5th – Parent can’t think far

Mr Albert Kwame Mante, a guardian, claims his nephew, who scored a 10 in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), was awarded the 5th option.

He thinks this is odd.

“My nephew got aggregate and he didn’t receive any of the first, second or even third choice,” he told TV3 on Monday, March 28. We got the fifth option. “How can someone who got 10 be put to the fifth choice?”

On March 26, the Ministry of Education unveiled the 2021/2022 Computerized School Selection and Placement Systems (CSSPS) for Senior High Schools (SHS).

The Ministry reported that out of 555,353 individuals who qualified for placement, 367,811 were automatically put into schools of their choosing.

The remaining 187, 542 suitable applicants will have to self-place to accessible schools as none of their selections were matched.

“The 2021/2022 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) into Senior High Schools (SHS)/ Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institutes, will go live on Saturday, March 26, 2022,” the statement said.
