A supposed second wife of slain Mfantseman MP, Hon. Ekow Quansah Hayford has popped up with the explanation that she thought she was the only wife of the late legislator.
Ekow Quansah Hayford who was killed by armed robbers a week ago at Mankessim in the Central Region had had his party, the New Patriotic Party announce his wife, Ophelia Hayford as the successor.
This announcement has somewhat brought some skeletons out of the cupboard with this woman who calls herself Sarah Hayford claiming to be the second wife of the MP.
In a radio interview with Akwasi Nsiah on Kasapa FM, Mrs Sarah Hayford narrated how she got married to her late husband. According to her, when the late MP met her in 2009, he allegedly told her he had divorced and had no wife, therefore, he was bold to meet her family and ask for her hand in marriage.
They got married on June 8, 2013, at a public event that saw them signing their marriage documents at the court and have since been living with the late MP at Tarkwa. She claimed she later got to know that the late legislator was still married to her first wife after the latter called her in 2016 to inform her the late Hayford was still married to her.
Many political analysts have condemned the action by the NPP to be appointing the wives of late MPs to replace them in parliament. According to them, this will not augur well for the political health and fostering of democracy of Ghana.
