Last night, the Ghana Tertiary Awards was held for the second at the National Theatre and students in the tertiary schools whoose works have impacted their community and school were awarded.
We must say the award ceremony didn’t go all that well as we had expected and reasons could be that, the organisers didn’t have the money to do what they wanted to do or just lack of ideas.
Well, it’s a Ghana thing and there have always been issues with our awards ceremony. Attendance was low, poor presentation and confusion on the part of the organizers.
With all the many flaws that filled the night, there were some memorable moments like when Akosua Agyapong danced to Bisa Kdei’s “Mansa” (we would upload a video of it shortly) and Kobby Rana’s electric performance.
Regina and Jason had a tie in the most influential student in Radio category, and so both of them had to be nominated. Bella Mundi of Ghone also won Tertiary Personality of the year. Zionfelix won student blogger of the year and Isaac Fiifi Yeboah also grabbed the plague for Most Influential student in Fashion Designing.
The winners all got an award plague, a box of indomie noodles and an apron ( No one won a cash prize or anything worthy, but hey they have an award plague. We pray a bigger sponsor jumps in next year)
