VGMA 2019: See the moment Amakye Dede crowned Kuami Eugene as the new king of Highlife Music in Ghana (Video)

Highlife legend, Abrantie Amakye Dede on the night of the chaos VGMA’s endorsed and crowned Lynx Entertainment signee, Kuami Eugene as the New King of Highlife music in Ghana.

This was after both of them had performed on stage at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Center on Saturday.

Before they left the stage, Amakye Dede called Kuami Eugene and asked him to kneel before him. He then put the crown on Kuami Eugene’s head and endorsed him as the New King of Highlife.

According to Amakye Dede, Kuami Eugene as the only highlife musician now who can carry on with the highlife music genre that they (the legends) started.

“I thought Highlife was dead but Kuami Eugene has proven that Highlife is still alive. He’s exceptionally good so support him,” Amakye Dede said.

Eugene won three awards which included; Highlife Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Music Producer of the Year, at the awards ceremony.
