‘Senegal Jollof Is The Best In Africa’- Lady Claims

Jollof rice is one of the most common dishes in West Africa. There are several regional variations in name and ingredients. In Mali it is called zaamè in Bamanankan.

The dish’s most common name of Jollof derives from the name of the Wolof people. There has been an age long debate on who prepares the best Jollof in Africa and recently, that topic has been reignited by a Twitter user called Danica Samuel.

According to her, she has tasted Jollof rice from Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal (the three main powerhouse when it comes to who makes the best Jollof) and can confidently say Senegal reign supreme.

She wrote;

“Ah, I finally tried Senegalese jollof, and let me tell you… I don’t want to hear another word from you guys (Ghana/Nigeria).”
