In a fresh press briefing this morning, it has been disclosed that Senior Minister Yaw Osafo-Marfo has tested positive for Coronavirus.
This was revealed by Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah during a press briefing this morning.
“Senior Minister Osafo-Maafo has been informed that his sample taken has returned positive for COVID-19,” Oppong Nkrumah said.
“As of today [July 7, 2020], he will commence treatment for COVID-19 from home, and in consonance with the transparency that we are bringing to Ghanaians, he has instructed that we inform the general public accordingly,” he added.
The senior minister is the latest government official to test positive for the virus as our coronavirus cases is at 21,077 at the time of this post.
Few days ago, it was also announced that the President, Nana Akufo Addo was going into self-isolation after it was discovered that one of the people in his inner circles had tested positive for the pandemic coronavirus.
At the time of this report, 129 people have died from the virus, with former NPP secretary and CEO of Forestry Commission, Sir John being one of them.
