The award-winning news anchor on the books of GhOne TV, Serwaa Amihere has heaped praises on the out-going Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, alias NAPO for the good work that he did whiles at that ministry.
Opoku Prempeh, popularly called NAPO has been Ghana’s education minister for the first four years of Nana Addo’s government.
The success of the Free Senior High School education can be likened to the dexterity with which NAPO handled issues regarding its implementation.
NAPO was deputised by a man whose work many a Ghanaian has admired so much given his own dexterity exhibited in his capacity as the Deputy Education Minister in charge of pre-tertiary education.
It is this Deputy Minister, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum that has been appointed as the education minister-designate whiles NAPO has been moved to the Energy Ministry in the second term of Nana Addo.
Many have hailed the president’s decision to appoint him, but that is not to say NAPO didn’t do any work at all at the ministry when he was in charge.
Serwaa Amihere said that there were challenges he faced but he did a good job nonetheless with the Free SHS policy.
“NAPO did a good job with Free SHS despite all the challenges,” she wrote on Twitter.
