Sex For Grades: ‘Your brains Don’t Matter Here, Only Sekz’- Yvonne Nelson

Yvonne Nelson has also added her voice to the ongoing sex for grades exposè undertaken by the BBC and premiered on Monday, October 7, 2019.

The BBC Africa Eye sent undercover journalist called Kiki Mordi who posed as a student to investigative the widespread phenomenon in West Africa tertiary institutions.

At the end of the investigations two Ghanaian lecturers at the University of Ghana, Dr Paul Kwame Butakor and Prof Ransford Gyampo, and one Nigerian lecturer at the University of Lagos were found culpable.

Commenting on the issue, Yvonne Nelson revealed that we have laid too much emphasis on sex instead of hard work and brains which is why we have gotten to this stage although the situation is not limited to Ghana alone.

She tweeted,

Sex for grades! Sex for jobs! Sex for everything in our part of the world! Your brains don’t matter here. It’s the covered parts they want, oh wait, these parts aren’t covered anymore…its free on social media. Will it ever change??
