Sharon Stone is an actress, film producer, and former fashion model from the United States. She was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, on March 10, 1958.
Stone’s mother, Dorothy Marie, worked as an accountant and a housewife, while her father, Joseph William Stone II, was a manufacturing worker. She attended Saegertown High School and graduated in 1975. She was up in a tiny town in Pennsylvania.
Stone attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for two years after graduating from high school before quitting to pursue a modeling career in New York City. She started working as a fashion model after being signed by the Ford Modeling Agency.
To pursue a career as an actor, Stone relocated to Los Angeles in 1980. She made her acting debut in the 1980 comedy “Stardust Memories,” and in the 1992 sensual thriller “Basic Instinct,” for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, she played the lead role.
Since then, Stone has made other movie appearances, including “Total Recall,” “The Quick and the Dead,” and “Casino.” Throughout her career, she has been nominated for a number of honors, including the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in “Casino.”
Stone has a successful acting career in addition to being a philanthropist and humanitarian. She has supported women’s rights and equality while working with groups like amfAR (The Fund for AIDS Research).
