The board and leadership of Ghana Music Awards hours ago at their press conference addressing the fracas that took place at the VGMA 2019 came to a decision to ban the two dancehall greats, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy and strip them off the awards won at the just ended awards ceremony.
According to the VGMA board, the decision was taken after “careful deliberations” and “extensive consultation” with stakeholders in the music industry.
This means the two dancehall artists are to return the two awards they both won on the VGMA night. The board also announced that the pop song of the year and the Artists of the year categories have been nullified.
Though Stonebwoy has been quiet about it, that’s not the same with Shatta Wale as he has reacted to the VGMA Board decision.
In a post shared on his social media handles, Shatta Wale spoke painfully about event organizers pitching artists against each other and people making artists hate each other all for nothing.
According to Shatta, the award plaque comes with nothing good to brag about yet still Charterhouse always want to take advantage of artists who work all year round and make money off them in just one night.
I care about the lives of my fans and can’t stand these people making us artiste hating, fighting and envying ourselves every year for nothing and I mean nothing. If we are awarded with plaques and huge sums of money and even houses like artiste will not misbehave and feel superior over each other
But you work hard all night and some few people make money out of this precious God-given talent just in one night. Naaaa !!! Not me Shatta Wale…We all got to eat !!!!
