It can be confirmed that the organisers of the Ghana Music Awards and owners of Gh Television, Charter House have filed a suit against the Vodafone Artiste of the year and king of dancehall, Shatta Wale known in real life as Charles Armah Mensah Jnr. The reports however indicate that Charter house is demanding a whooping amount of Ghc10 million for damages and defamation. The artist, is to be served with a writ ahead of an October 20 court appearance, according to leaked documents online. This suit has come about as a result of a video Shatta Wale was said to have painted the name of the organisation in black. A letter dated October 2, 2014, from the Plantiff’s lawyers, Faibille & Faibille, have prayed an Accra court to inter alia award damages over some videos he posted online days ago, which largely sought to ridicule the company and it’s Director, Iyiola Ayoade.
