The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu made ‘history’ yesterday April 21 when news emerged that he has joined worshipers at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Accra to mark the Easter Mass.
Father Campbell reportedly welcomed him with a colourful bouquet of flower before he was ushered into the Church. The Chief Imam’s surprise visit was a reciprocal one to earlier engagements with former Archbishop of Accra, Gabriel Palmer Buckle, and other Christian leaders.
Several Ghanaians have applauded the gesture as it goes a way to accommodate religious tolerance and Shatta Wale was equally impressed.
Taking to his Instagram account, Wale wrote;
“Ghana’s Chief Imam at Christ the King Church, Accra to celebrate his 100th birthday. A true son of Abraham!! God Bless him for his shining example. Allahu Arkbar ”
