The manager for Ebony Reigns, Bullet of Ruff & Smooth fame, has explained in an interview on Zylofon Fm’s Showbiz Agenda why he decided to sideline Shatta Wale although there were reports prior to the release of the smash hit ‘Sponsor’ that the dancehall king was featured on the song.
Interestingly the music video and song was released without Shatta Wale’s presence on it and it got many people spreading false rumours that, the King wanted to bang Ebony before getting on the song but Bullet in his interview on Zylofon FM has explained that, they couldn’t get Wale in the music video because he wanted to change the concept for their music video and that he also kept delaying them.
According to Bullet, who owns RuffTown Records, Ebony featured Shatta Wale on the original version of ‘Sponsor’ and Shatta Wale also featured her on his song and they were expected to shoot the music video for the song but the dancehall artiste kept delaying him and after trying several attempts to get Shatta Wale to get in for the music video, he had to ignore him eventually and just shoot the music video.
He also added that Shatta Wale kept giving excuses that he didn’t like their concept and that he wants it to be done his way but he (Bullet) didn’t also like the concept Shatta Wale wanted to bring on board.
“Ebony featured him on Sponsor and he also featured her on his own song and after having several meetings at his place to settle on a date for the music video shoot, he kept delaying us and we also wanted to release the song. Moreso, he didn’t like our concept and wanted it changed but we also wanted to flow with the concept we had, so eventually, we just had to release the music video without him in it”
Bullet also added that he then told Shatta Wale that, if that is the case, then he would release the song with just Ebony on it, then later release a remix which would have him on, then the music video can follow his concept but Shatta didn’t like the idea and that led to some misunderstanding between them, something that even made Wale angrily approach him, when they met at the A & C mall sometime ago.
