CEO of 3Music Awards, Sadiq Abu Abdulai has disclosed that despite the fact that Shatta Wale’s song, Melissa is dominating the social media landscape and doing so well, mainstream media like radio and television are yet to capture it.
According to him, this seeming situation could be solved as soon as the Dancehall pulls one of his stunts. He made this submission during an interview on Hitz FM.
“Melissa” had come, it’s growing. The media hasn’t captured it yet. Let him do a live video, taking on the media for not playing his song. the next day, the media would jump on it and it’d spark a conversation.
On why Shatta Wale doesn’t focus on doing only hardcore Dancehall songs, he said,
‘Shatta Wale said the mass market was not interested in the hardcore Dancehall so he had to tweak it a bit.”
