Seafood wholesaler Yamayuki, in collaboration with the renowned sushi chain Onodera group, secured the prize-winning bluefin tuna.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Yamayuki and Onodera have clinched the title of purchasing the market’s priciest fish of the new season, showcasing their dedication to acquiring top-quality seafood.
Yamayuki’s president, Yukitaka Yamaguchi, expressed his satisfaction with the acquisition, stating that; “If we were going to do it, we wanted to win.”
The successful bid shows not only the commitment of these businesses to excellence but also their determination to consistently secure the best catches available.
The bluefin tuna will be expertly prepared and served as sushi at Onodera, a Michelin-starred sushi restaurant located in Tokyo’s upscale Ginza district.
The inclusion of this prestigious fish in Onodera’s menu adds to the restaurant’s reputation for offering exceptional culinary experiences.
