“Shut up, don’t criticize the gov’t if you don’t know Economics” – Paul Adom-Otchere sends harsh reply to Nana Aba Anamoah and #FixTheCountry campaigners [Video]

Host of the Good Evening Ghana show on Metro TV, Paul Adom-Otchere has sent a harsh reply to Nana Aba Anamoah and all other people campaigning with the hashtag #FixTheCountry.

According to him, Nana Aba Anamoah and critics of the government should learn economics before they get the effrontery to rally Ghanaians for change.

This comes in the wake of a social media revolution dubbed #FixTheCountry where distraught Ghanaians are calling on their leaders and duty bearers to fix the pertinent issues facing the citizenry.

Not too long after that, Paul Adom Otchere, a journalist who has become more of a political communicator shared a post on Twitter where he announced his intention to discuss the #FixTheCountry campaign which had overtaken social media on his show.

Nana Aba Anamaoh, sensing the hypocritical nature and disposition of the once-revered Paul Adom-Otchere, charged him to refrain from licking the boots of politicians and speaking truth to power.

She urged Paul to stop being sycophantic about the plights of Ghanaians and embrace objective journalism where he speaks the truth regardless of the party in power.

“For once, be brave and tell this administration led by @NAkufoAddo to #FixTheCountry and stop dragging others in. Is John Mahama our President? CSOs, Media? Did we elect them? Stop this life!!”

This clearly rubbed Paul Adom Otchere the wrong way in a reply that was more in defence of the government said Nana Aba Anamoah needs to shut up if she does not know anything about COVID Economics.

According to his argument, the COVID pandemic has taken a toll on the economy which has resulted in some level of hardship thus Ghanaians need to be circumspect and realistic in their criticisms and expectations of the government.

But the straw that broke the camel’s back is Paul Adom-Otchere’s view that Nana Aba Anamaoh cannot tell him what to do – whether to criticize the government and join the #FixTheCountry mantra or not.
