Ace Nigerian singer, Omawumi has disclosed the reason why she cut down her hair saying it was in memory of people who lost their lives as a result of the EndSars protest.

She cut down her hair in the live video of her single, dubbed “Bullsh*t” and in a recent interview, she revealed what led to the decision.

Speaking with Hip TV, she emphasized that what she felt from the loss of lives during the massive EndSars protest and pandemic informed her to lose her hair too.

She indicated that she felt so much pain that people were losing their lives for the betterment of the country and the nation was busy celebrating mediocrity.

In her words, “I cut my hair on my video that I did; the song is titled BS. I cut my hair live on that video because when I was writing it, I was in a place of despair. It was during the pandemic and I was losing people left right center,” she said.

“There was the ‘Soro Soke’ in the background. People were dying. It just felt like nothing was going right with the country. We were celebrating mediocrity”
