Ghanaian singer and media personality, Sister Derby has expressed her displeasure towards Joy FM, after one of their show hosts secretly recorded and played a conversation with her on air, without her knowledge.
She laid out her dismay in a series of posts on twitter, where she called out the host identified as Kwaku Brachie, for his act of unprofessionalism.
Per her narration, Kwaku Brachie called and invited her to their studio for a discussion on cyber bullying. During the Phone call, Derby stated that she laid down some of her reservations on the issue, and highlighted on attitudes of some media personnel in the industry.
She then agreed to the interview only to show up at their studios the next morning, to hear an edited version of their private conversation being played on air.
“It’s been an unfortunate series of events, starting with invasion of my privacy, recording of a conversation without my knowledge or consent, editing of this confidential conversation and playing it on air – all without permission or approval of any kind. I least expected this from a rep of Joy FM’s stature. This appalling treatment meted out to me should certainly not be occurring in this day and age. @Joy997FM“
