A Nigerian Human Right activist, Victoria Inyama has spoken against marital rape which is condoned by most people.
According to Victoria in an Instagram post, Penetration without a partner’s consent is the highest form of sexual abuse.
“The fact that you are married doesn’t mean you should have sex with your partner anytime you want even if they are not in the mood. That is domestic and sexual abuse… She is your wife not your sex slave!!” She stated in the video.
She added that cultural, religious and societal pressure has stopped women from complaining about being sexually abused.
