Society Pressurized Me Into Getting Married – Nana Ama Mcbrown Reveals

Kumawood actress cum TV show host, Nana Ama McBrown has revealed how society mounted pressure on her to get married due to her celebrity status.

A lot female celebrities have constantly been pressurized by their fans to get married. The likes of Lydia Forson, Juliet Ibrahim, Nana Aba Anamoah amongst others have all had their share of the pressure. As soon as a young lady reaches the ages of 20 and above, society starts asking when she is going to tie the knot.

This has unfortunately pushed many young women into early unhappy marriages. Which some have been able to leave the marriage, others are forced to stay in it due to their status in society or family “name”.

Well, in Nana Ama Mcbrown’s case, who appeared on Dentaa Amoateng’s show, she didn’t as much pressure from her parents like her fans to get married and give birth.

According to McBrown, who married at the age of 42 and gave birth at 45, revealed that most pressure to marry didn’t come from her family but her fans.

She, however, believes that the pressure from her fans to find a husband came with good intentions.

“My mum never asked me when I’m getting married and pregnant. My family never put that pressure on me…It’s the outside people…and I think it was too much because I’m popular and I also believe that they care about me. Even though the sometimes ask in a very bad manner but I believe that they all care about me.”She stated.

Nana Ama went on saying;

“They want to see how young Nana Ama McBrown is going to look like as a mother…..It’s the time we leave that. I think we grow up to know what we want in life. I’m growing every day and I know what I want,” she added.
