Assin Central MP, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is saying that some individuals in his party are plotting to have him thrown into jail so to quash his presidential ambition.
Kennedy Agyapong, who is currently in court over a contempt case which resulted from the verbal tantrums he threw at Justice Wuni of the Accra High Court, said he is having to deal with a lot of hate and envy from his own people.
Speaking on his television station NET2 TV last night, Kennedy Agyapong said some people are clamouring for his incarceration and these people are in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the party he is affiliated to.
“Some people in my party are saying I want to become the president. What I really want to do is to open industries. Thos who want to be presidents are already there and I know them. What I want to do is to be given contracts so I can open jobs and factories. Those in my party calling for me to be jailed should just stop it because I can only be jailed for as long as the law permits,” he said.
Kennedy Agyapong added that some NPP people are calling his lawyer and telling him to drop the case so he can be jailed.
“I know a lot of my people who are calling my lawyer telling him to drop the case so I can be jailed. The case is still pending so I do not want to say anything about it.”
“You need to be brave and bold to be in the NPP because I can see how my own people are pushing to have me put in jail.”
